One of the jurors in Steven Avery’s trial is now recanting his guilty vote, according to Making a Murderer filmmakers.

Netflix

Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos appeared on the Today show this morning to reveal a new development in the case that’s at the center of their 10-part Netflix documentary.

Ricciardi and Demos say that they were contacted by one of the jurors from Avery’s 2006 trial for the murder of Teresa Halbach. The unnamed juror, who had voted to convict, now says they believe Avery was framed by law enforcement and deserves a new trial.

So why did this juror vote guilty at the time? “They feared for their personal safety,” Demos said.
