Donald Trump plays a golden oldie, bashing Graydon Carter and Vanity Fair.

This morning the president-elect of the United States tweeted:

Why would Trump, who is about to become the most powerful man in the world, tweet this? Here are a few possible explanations:

  1. He was angry at an extremely funny restaurant review in which Vanity Fair suggested Trump Grill “could be the worst restaurant in America.”
  2. He has a longstanding grudge against Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, who coined the immortal phrase “short-fingered vulgarian” to describe Trump. Trump has, in fact, been tweeting about Carter and Vanity Fair for years, predicting the imminent demise of both.
  3. Trump is trying to distract the public from the many controversies he’s embroiled in, ranging from questions about Russian interference in the election to his many controversial selections for high-level posts.

Whatever the reason, the tweet is yet another sign that President Trump will be the same old Trump we’ve always known.
