Citing exit poll results, CNN, NBC, FOX and the Associated Press—and pretty much everyone else—have called Sanders and Trump the winners. Both victories were declared at 8pm, which suggests that the result wasn’t in question.
Taken in the short-term, this isn’t surprising at all: Both Sanders and Trump have led in the New Hampshire polls for weeks by substantial margins. But this result is astonishing when taken from the start of this reason: Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump winning New Hampshire would have been unthinkable in July.
