As a belated Christmas gift for all the UFO obsessives out there, FOX has released an in-depth look at the upcoming miniseries re-boot of the X-Files. It’s got a few mild spoilers, but they’re worth it to hear Chris Carter talking about how he updated the show for 2015’s special atmosphere of paranoia and government fear, and about how he named the pilot episode after Karl Ove Knausgaard’s My Stuggle (yes, really). The gang’s all back, and that gang includes Mulder, Scully, Skinner, the Cigarette Smoking Man, monsters of the week, alien-human hybrids, and the sexual tension between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. New additions Joel McHale (playing a conservative talk show host and conspiracy theorist), Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, and Kumail Nanjiani also make appearances.
The new series premiers January 24.
