Hillary: Everyone should love Hillary—including Wall Street!

Both the moderators and the other candidates tried to press Clinton on her ties to Wall Street and big businesses. “Should corporate America love Hillary Clinton?” ABC’s David Muir asked. “Everybody should!” she replied, to big laughs from the audience.

The rest of Hillary’s economic message stressed inclusivity, as she tried to sound business-friendly while still holding Wall Street at arm’s length. “I want to be the president of the struggling, striving, and successful,” she said, going on to praise a local supermarket chain, Market Basket, for its profit-sharing plan.

Clinton’s attempt to strike a moderate tone on the issue also set up a perfect lay-up for Bernie. “Will corporate America love a President Sanders?” Muir asked him. “No,” he said, “I think they won’t.”
